Is there a large lego set that would take a long time to build?

I'm looking for a lego set, with instructions, that when assembled creates something large. For example, a building or a cartoon character. I'm NOT looking for large legos, but a set of legos that when assembled creates something large. I'm looking for a one week project with my buddies. I'm also not looking for a large box of legos that I can simply do what I want with them, they must have instructions in order to create something. If anyone knows where I can buy such a thing please respond.

P.S- I Would enjoy making a Spongebob character but it isn't a must.

I found that Lego makes the Architecture Series which includes classics such as Frank LLoyd Wright's Fallingwater, The Empire State Building, and The Seattle Space Needle among others.
If you are seeking Spongebob Lego Sets the Lego Spongebob Rocket Ride # 3831 which is 12'' tall and has 279 pieces. Also, look for Lego Sets # 3827 and # 3825 which feature Spongebob themes.
The Lego City Crane # 7632 is over 17'' tall.
There is a mall near Atlanta, GA that has a Lego Store where I seen some life size display pieces but I don't know if they were for sale Today there is a 4 FT Tall Giant Futuron Astronaut from The Classic Space Series that Weighs 50 POUNDS for sale on eBay where you would need to have your parent's permission and an account to bid on him if you are a minor as the Shipping fee is $ 300.00.
