Can I connect a Nintendo Wii purchased in the UK to a NTSC TV (US)?

Hello,
I purchased a Nintendo Wii from amazon.co.uk and i am wondering if i can use it on US televisions. It comes with a AV(Red/white/blue) Cable (RVL-009).

I realize i have to purchase PAL games and such so i am just wondering if the TV can accept the PAL.

Any help would be appreciated!

The wii has been released in around 30 countries so u can see if thoese countries are compatable with PAL and then you could consider ordering online from that country if you want to be on the safe side.
