Nintendo side scroller (left to right) space shooter?

I cant remember the name of this game I played in the early 90s for the NES. Its a side scroller space shooter game and you start the game in some metal encased setting, maybe like a giant space ship and there are two metal peaks one from the top and one from the bottom which form a narrow entrance you have to go through as soon as you start the game. Here is a list of games I have that are NOT the one im looking for: defender, gradius, lifeforce, 1942, crisis force, galaga, parodius, star force, star gate, star luster, star soldier, star voyager, staraga, zanac. If you know which game im talking about or have an idea of what it might be please let me know. thanks.
Its not Metroid, you are in a spaceship and its more than likely not one of the classic titles otherwise i probably would have remembered it. Its not like Galaga either, thats an overhead view. This game is a side view and the ship moves from the left of the screen to the right.

Maybe something from the R-Type franchise?
